I would like to sign up for this event, where is your sign up page? Or am I just blind?
Thanks
Pam Griffin
Hey Pam, for WebDesign.com members a link will be sent today.
Do you have a preview that is actually a preview and not just a commercial? Ideally one with the same instructor.
This advanced course alone would be worth the cost of the annual membership… if it doesn’t put me to sleep. (Had a few bad experiences with online classes in the past.)
Overall, because of the integrity of the company and it’s partners, I’m guessing the class will be great, I guess I just want some reassurances before I plunk down the $$.
can we just pay to attend the two courses instead of the whole membership?
Valerie, thanks for your questions …. we’re very confident in the annual membership price as it stands (already a ton of classes there) PLUS the two full days of this upcoming developer course alone, PLUS the ones we’re doing.
If you’re concerned about maximizing your money, I think the course list already demonstrates it — specialized and advanced WordPress and business training that isn’t out there.
But that’s just me … when I got started using WordPress and doing development I found a ton of free resources … but ultimately having a trusted resource with an ever-expanding library of premium training would have helped me a ton.
To me, it’s an investment that is only going to add value. Many of our members share that sentiment as they’ve used the advice and training to improve their businesses and skills.
However, I understand the worry about being bored. Here’s the preview webinar we did that is presented by Benjamin. Keep in mind we developed this course for our new Certified program …. there’s a lot of content here and some of it talks about that program, but toward the end he shares some advice.

@Adrian – currently we do not offer stand alone classes and the only way to get these great courses is in the annual WD Membership for $397.
We have considered individual pricing but for what we would charge, you would still be getting a better deal and more value for the full membership.
Will this course “WordPress Developer Course” be available after the event to all members?
I may not be able to devote 2 entire days, but if I’m a member, can I play back the entire 2 day class after the event from your “library”?
Paul
Thanks, Cory! That was a great video to demonstrate Benjamin’s presentation style. Not boring at all.
Now I just have to let my friend know I’ll be canceling our plans this weekend.
This course alone is worth the whole annual fee, easily. I know there are free resources out there, and I use those too. But I appreciate a structured format, so it’s an investment worth making.
Paul,
The entire course will be recorded and available to all the annual WD Members. They will be edited and uploaded after the courses are completed.
Valerie,
It’s always good to hear that I’m not “boring”. I think this is going to be a great live class. I’ve posted a rough schedule for the two days in the members section of the forums. (http://university.webdesign.com/forum/wp-developer-certification/time-schedule-for-april-17th-may-1st/)
Sorry but I have not received my members email which gives me a link to sign up for the upcoming workshop. Could someone please contact me before the end of business on Friday so I can make sure I am able to participate on Saturday.
Thanks so much!
Pam
I was sent the link and now it does not allow me to sign up. I am a WD member. Is the class closed?
@Pam – I will e-mail you directly, but for those of you who have signed up for the WD Membership, you can access the information in the members forum when you login.
@William – the link should be working still. I will check into it and e-mail you as well.
James/Benjamin:
Do you happen to have an outline for Saturday’s class that you could share? I am trying to plan my Saturday “logistical schedule” and want to make sure that if I need to break away for a few minutes that I don’t miss something important.
Thanks in advance!
- Bruce
There is a tentative outline/schedule in the forums.

And don’t worry, I’ve scheduled a bunch of breaks and a time for lunch. So we all don’t have to sit in one place for the entire time.
just wondering if you have any basic wordpress courses for web design? Leeds area
Karen,
We do not have basic WP courses yet, but they are coming to our membership. Please feel free to check out some of the free tutorials at http://www.ithemes.com
Been searching for courses for wordpress blogs and came across this sounds just what I’m looking for.
Will you be running any of these courses in 2011? I would be very interested but have never signed up for online classes etc, I’m in the UK will that be a problem due to the time difference
Hi Bruce,
Yes, we will be running this course again in the Spring of 2011. The time zone issue may be a factor for you, but the good news is we record all the webinars and make them available to members.
Also, in the membership area there are already recordings of previous WordPress Developer Courses…so you can ALREADY access the information, at your convenience, plus have access to the latest version when it happens.
Nina!
Historically this course is only open to members of WebDesign.com.
